About

A secret world …

Kevin Jones was born in the northern, old fur-trade post of Prince George, British Columbia. As the son of an RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) officer, his small family moved so regularly that he wasn’t sure where his home town was. This wanderlust continued after marrying his lovely wife and hitching his ramshackle cart to her horse. He has now lived in three provinces and ten different cities across this vast land that we call Canada. He describes himself as: ‘a potted plant: just pick me up and take me with you!’

Moving frequently did help to grow a vibrant imagination and a sense of humour, as moving so often makes it very hard to make connections and he always felt like an outsider. He became a child of television, watching old, black and white comedies, westerns, science fiction, and fantasies. These vastly different ‘tv friends’ and their gambit of times and places that they resided in, filled upon his creative fuel tank. He then began to pour all of these characters, places, times and ideas that he had absorbed in his youth into his own secret world of imagination.

Imagination is everything to Kevin. He truly is a creative: he loves writing short stories and novels, building wooden castles and cardboard vehicles for his kids, painting murals, cooking and baking, building his own furniture, inking original artwork and now working with digital art. Creating things out of the swirling nebula of his mind and splashing it onto paper or on digital screens is cathartic. He is also a devoted father to two fine young men, a loving, doting husband to his wife, a fantastic cook and a shepherd to two orange cats. He is truly at his happiest with an idea in his head, a pencil in his hand and something to add to his secret world.
